Frequently Asked Questions
Massage FAQs
-
We ask that you dress down to your comfort level for the massage. You will be completely covered the entire massage. The massage therapist will only uncover the area that they are working on at the time.
-
Unless stated otherwise, our massages cover the full body from head to toe.
-
Yes of course! We want you to be completely comfortable during your massage. Before each session, the massage therapist will ask if there are areas that you prefer to be left untouched. They will also ask if there are certain areas you would like for them to focus on as well.
-
Please feel free to let the therapist know at any time if you do not like the pressure of the massage. We want this experience to be very relaxing and we will gladly change the pressure to your liking.
-
At this time we do not. However, our licensed massage therapists do SOAP notes and can also provide you with any documentation you need to file your own claim with insurance. Check out your insurance policy! Many packages now incorporate massage as a safe form of therapy!
Waxing FAQs
-
Your skin may be pink and have small bumps. This is very normal and will subside within 30 minutes to 24 hours. The bumps are the inflamed follicles and will return to normal. Your skin may feel warm or slightly tender to the touch. This also will subside within 30 minutes to 24 hours. Applying a cooling gel, cool compress, and avoiding heat will help speed up this process. It is also normal to have some short/stray hairs after your wax. We do our best to remove all unwanted hair, but because hair grows in different stages, some hairs may have been too short for the wax to remove. We suggest leaving those to grow so they can be removed at your next treatment.
-
For best results, you should wax every 3 - 5 weeks. Don't shave between waxes, as this disrupts the process. If you wax regularly, you will notice the hair growth will be less, the hair will be finer and more sparse, and the waxing process itself becomes much more comfortable.
-
At least two weeks. This will ensure that the hair is long enough for the wax to remove the hair.
-
If you have taken Accutane in the past you must have stopped using it at least 3 months prior. Waxing cannot be performed while you are using Retin A or any prescription retinoid/vitamin A product. You must stop using these products at least 5 days before your wax. Many prescription acne products contain this so please check with your doctor first.
-
Avoid the gym, hot yoga, outdoor activities, etc. that will cause excessive perspiration for 24 hours.
-
No tanning 24 hours before or after your wax.
No steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs or hot showers for 24 hours after your wax.
Exfoliating with a loofah 24 hours before and after, and then on a regular basis, can prevent ingrown hairs.
Wait 24 hours before applying self tanners.
For underarm waxing, wait 24 hours before applying deodorant.
Avoid getting waxed the week before your period. Your skin will be more sensitive during this time.
Nails FAQs
-
Depending on how fast your nails grow, gel polish manicures can last up to 2 weeks.
-
If you have gel/shellac or any other product on your nails from another salon, we kindly ask that you go there to have it removed. Our removers may not work well with another salon’s product. If we do have to try to remove a product, there is a fee.
-
We do not at this time. Our little spa is small and we aim to keep toxins and chemicals out of the air for safety reason for our Guests and Team. We focus more on healthy and natural nails.
Spray Tanning FAQs
-
We recommend that you shave, exfoliate, and wear loose fitting clothing to your appointment, or bring loose fitting clothing to change into. Do not apply makeup, lotions, or creams on the skin.
-
Leave the solution on the skin for 8 hours for maximum results. Shower lightly, towel dry, and apply a lot of moisturizer.
-
If you would like the tan to be lighter, then yes you may shower before the 8 hour period. This may shorten the length of the tan.
-
With proper care, your tan will last 5-10 days.
Appointments FAQs
-
The sooner, the better! Our little spa is busy, especially after 4pm and on Saturdays. If you like the provider that you have been using, you’ll especially want to book out as many appointments as you’re able to secure your favorite spa provider and time.
Holiday times are the busiest (Oct-Mar), so plan early and schedule your self care as soon as you think of it.
-
Yes! If you do not request a provider, we will assume that you do not prefer who your provider is and we will schedule you with whomever is available at your requested day and time.
-
Yes we do charge a cancellation fee of 50% of the scheduled service's cost. We do ask that you cancel 24 hours in advance. If not cancelled within 24 hours, the cancellation fee will be charged to your card we have on file. If no card is on file, we won’t be able to schedule you again until that fee is paid off. This helps us pay our providers when there is a last minute cancellation, as it is impossible to fill that empty spot with short notice. We like to pay our talented providers.
-
We do! We carefully vet all of our applicants to ensure you are in safe “hands!” If you prefer to not see a male therapist, no offense taken. We want you to feel safe, secure, and cared for. Just let us know if you have a preference.
-
In most cases. Yes! We have special massage tables that can lower almost all the way to the ground. For nail services, we have a portable system for pedicures as well.
